Sara Hulvey
QUICK UPDATE (Spring 2008) — Sara graduates from Turner Ashby in June, which marks the end of a memorable high school golf career. Despite being outweighed by her golf bag, and standing a foot shorter than most of her competitors, "Flea" ended up as the Captain of the TA squad, and played as high as the #2 spot on the team. Sara's dedication, work ethic, and competitive tenacity are what a coach dreams of in his players.

Coach's Comments
Sara "Flea" Hulvey did not participate enough in the TPS to defend her title from the 2006-2007 season, but she continued to be a strong presence on the Turner Ashby team as a senior. She was featured in the Daily News Record article which talked about her being among the top scorers in the district despite her lack of size and power.
Sara also qualified, as did teammate, Shelby Estes, for the Girls' State high school tournament which was held October 27-28 at Williamsburg National. Sara shot 79-86 in the wind and cold for her best performance in that tournament in three years.
This marks the end of high school golf for Sara, and she has chosen to focus on academics in college next Fall. "Flea" is an amazing young lady, and for six years she has been one of the primary reasons why I love my job. She will do great things in college and beyond, and her coach will miss her.
